THE KRAYOLAS - KOLORED MUSIC (1982)
"Kolored Music" was an impressive start for this Mexican-American pop group from San Antonio, Texas; their music has a joyous, unpretentious quality that makes every cut a treat. Basing their sound on the '60s - there are traces of Paul Revere and the Raiders, the Box Tops, Monkees and, of course, the Beatles - the Krayolas stood apart from others sharing the basic pop impulse by using brass on seven of the album's ten tracks. The horns never get in the way, but instead add a soulful edge to the sweet innocent voices. A consistently pleasing album.Trouser Press

An album that never made it to CD. It comes complete with custom jewel artwork.

ED JAMES - RARITIES (2015)
Ed James began his music career at the age of 2, beating the crap out of pots and pans on the kitchen floor. He became the drummer of his first rock band when he was in the 5th grade. Fast forward to the present...and somewhere along the way, Ed earned a Bachelor's degree in music, released 4 solo records, and had his tunes featured on VH1, NBC, independent films, as well as a bunch of compilation & tribute CDs.

A couple of months ago, i got a request asking to collect all of those "contributions". I made a custom artwork for the compilation but I was unable to find two of those tracks and remain hard to to find, "St.George and the dragon" this is the Toto Tribute "Fanfields" (limited edition of 1.000) and the other one is The Butch Walker Tribute "ReadyTributeGo" - so any help is welcome if you have them.

As you might know or not, i'd removed the compilation for a few days. Some readers could have been upset with the inclusion of the Spirit Kid's "Heart Attack" because David Bash had a health problem earlier this year. At the time of the original post of the compilation i didn't know about David Bash' problem. Sincere apologies.

So, i have revamped the compilation with another excellent Spirit song, the very Squeeze-ish "Dot The I". I have modified the tray artwork and also fixed the 2015 typo error on the front cover.

For the ones who already have downloaded the compilation, here's the erratum link with the song and the artwork. Click here

If you want to download the compilation again, click on the head title or go to the original post here
Full compilation: ZS (183mb)
Song #1 only: ZS (9mb)

And finally a message from David Bash :"I'm sure everyone will be glad to see the compilation again, especially the bands who are on it!

VARIOUS - THE POCKET SYMPHONIES TO GOD(2008)
In 2008, i made this compilation and quite some PPC readers have always considered it was the best one i'd ever made. At the time of its first release, the collection had been available in mp3 format only. The links had been dead for so long, that a few months ago i decided to re-post, but instead of re-upping the old one, i re-made it totally, moving one song from CD1 to CD2, and using only LOSSLESS files in order to be listened in CD quality. The artwork has been slightly changed also.

Please read the original post here (22 June 2008)

MICHAEL BROWN (1949-2015)
Michael Brown (born Michael David Lookofsky) was best known as the principal songwriter for The Left Banke and for writing their two hits "Walk Away Renee" and "Pretty Ballerina".

After the brief Montage episode, he formed The Stories and finally The Beckies, a pure power pop band.

They released one album that has never been reissued on CD
